Snow Leopard users on my LAN cannot access shared notebooks from my Leopard machine. How do I fix this?

Apple made a change to the Bonjour protocol between the Leopard (OS X 10.5) and Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) releases. This change causes Snow Leopard users to have difficulty accessing notebooks shared by Leopard users over a local network. This can be solved by performing the following procedure:

1) Launch the Terminal Utility on the host NoteShare or NoteShare Server host machine (Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal).

2) NoteShare users enter the following line:

defaults write "com.aquaminds.NoteShare" UseNewBonjourServiceType 1

NoteShare Server users enter this line:

defaults write "com.aquaminds.NoteShare Server" UseNewBonjourServiceType 1

3) Quit and restart NoteShare or NoteShare Server and have your clients attempt to open a shared notebook. The notebooks should be visible now.

Clients and hosts who are still having problems should check that they are running the latest versions of the application. Check our Updates page (http://www.aquaminds.com/updates.jsp) to make see if they have the latest version.
